National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is a fast-paced writing sprint where contestants go all-out to complete a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. Emphasizing quantity over quality, the contest encourages you to write your ideas down and keep on writing.

Writing starts November 1^st and if your novel reaches 50,000 words by midnight on the 30^th – you win! NaNoWriMo winners earn a Winner’s Certificate and a web badge – but most importantly they earn the precious satisfaction of completing a novel.
