Guest Author Interview with Sherri Rabinowitz

Please join me in welcoming Sherri Rabinowitz, short story writer and author of Fantasy Time Inc.

1. Tell us your latest news?  I am very excited, Fantasy Time Inc. has been nominated for a Global eBook Award! I have won awards for my short stories but this would be the first one for one of my novels.

2. When and why did you begin writing? I wrote my first story in the 5th grade. We were asked to write a story based on a sentence. It was suppose to be two sentences and it actually turned out to be 10 pages. It was a Greek Myth that I made up. I was hooked.

3. What books have most influenced your life most? I love all sorts of books so there are many types of books that have influenced me.

I think both fiction and inspirational books are full of things that kind of help guide you. You have to read with your mind and heart open, and then you can find things in books that just blow your mind.

4. What book are you reading now?  I am reading The Lost Symbol, The Universe in a Single Atom and The Hero with a Thousand Faces. I usually read at least three books at the same time, because I like to switch it up.

5. What are your current projects? I am working on three different books right now. I have what I would call a memoir, a historical drama and what I guess would be termed a science fiction/ fantasy novel. I also am working on two plays and two screenplays. I also am working on my new writing blog and Jewel eMagazine. I love to write!

6. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book? I would have gotten another editor, the one who worked on my book missed too much. You have to be careful because people are so very picky.

7. Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? I started to write seriously in college. I wrote poems, plays and short stories. I was published and produced in school and it inspired me to try to write for a living. It has not quite worked out yet, but I keep on plugging away.?

8. Can you share a little of your current work with us? My book, Fantasy Time Inc. is a time travel novel but the twist is that you book a trip to the time period you wish as a vacation. There are a lot of twists and the big worry is that one misstep by anyone and time will be changed forever. It is a fun story of adventure and romance.

9. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work? My favorite writers are Agatha Christie, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ray Bradbury and Jane Austen. I do not follow their style in my writing but I hope I follow their passion. I think it is the beauty and fun of their books. There is sadness but that is part of life, I think that the lives in each of their works just fires up my imagination.

10. How many books/stories have you written? I have written about 150 short stories in all kinds of styles and genre’s. I have written two books, Murder Inc. and Fantasy Time Inc.
