Consumer Data on Who Buys Books and What They Buy

Bowker did an analysis of who buys books, what categories they buy, where they by them and why they buy them.  While the survey was done as of the first quarter 2011, except for the growth of eBooks, the information probably hasn’t changed much.

It was no surprise that women buy the most books except for graphic novels, but I found it interesting that the 18-29 age group buys the most books.  Maybe that’s because they buy 60% of graphic novels.  Also surprising was that the people with the most money by the least amount of books.
