Well, take heart. You’re not alone. You join a prestigious group of authors which includes F. Scott Fitzgerald and Walt Whitman.  We Indie authors all know it’s important to start promoting our books long before they are released. As an author, I’m always interested in how best to ask someone to review my book. Most of us have had them. The dreaded bad review. Our first instinct it to respond. No, actually, our first reaction is to fume! Then, we want to respond. But should we? All you authors out there, if you don’t have your book on Goodreads, you should. The number of book review sites has dramatically increased over the past few years. So much so that book bloggers even had their own convention at BookExpo America earlier this month. Reading this book made me feel as though the author had wrapped her arm round my shoulder, handed me a glass of delicious wine, and ushered me in to a living room full of funny, warm and eccentric friends. |
